Dr. David Gill qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon following his completion of the Newcastle Training Program based at the Royal Newcastle, John Hunter, and Maitland hospitals. He obtained his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. He was subsequently appointed Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to Hunter New England Health and established a private practice in Newcastle in January 2005.

Since his appointment as a VMO, Dr. Gill has served the health service as Bone Bank Director, Supervisor for Unaccredited Registrars, and Chair of the Newcastle Regional Training Committee for the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He is the current Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at John Hunter Hospital.

With over 19 years of active involvement on the trauma on-call roster at John Hunter Hospital, Dr. Gill is a leading orthopaedic trauma surgeon in the Hunter region. He remains a committed affiliate of the orthopaedic trauma service provided at John Hunter Hospital.

Dr. Gill treats a broad range of orthopaedic surgical presentations, including traumatic injuries and chronic conditions. His elective surgical interests include the hip, knee, and shoulder, offering a range of arthroscopic and joint replacement procedures.
